Texas-born Singer-Songwriter Announces East Coast Tour with Labelmate Joe P.

Juliana Madrid, the Dallas-born singer-songwriter known for her relatable and sardonic coming-of-age tales, has just released "Big Plans," the second track from her eagerly awaited sophomore EP, coming soon on Neon Gold Records. With an official music video set to be released later this month, Madrid is also gearing up for an East Coast tour supporting labelmate Joe P.

Madrid's "Big Plans" is a song that explores the distance she inadvertently creates between herself and the people she loves. Despite her introverted nature, Madrid hopes that listeners can feel a glimmer of hope when they listen to the song. The track was born out of a sudden inspiration, as Madrid explains: "Big Plans was one of that miracle out-of-thin-air-ideas that happens pretty much never for me and artists alike." She credits her collaboration with producer Ben Ruttner for refining the song and introducing her to the MS20's sound, which she now adores.

Last month, Madrid released "Afterlife," another track from her upcoming EP that showcases a more expansive and deeper sound. With lyrics like "Hey! I'm not great but I might be alright. So kiss my perfect afterlife goodbye," Madrid continues to captivate audiences with her unique blend of folk, alt, and pop. Her self-titled debut EP, released on Neon Gold Records in 2022, received critical acclaim from outlets such as UPROXX, V Magazine, and The Line of Best Fit, and was listed by Gorilla vs. Bear as one of the best EPs of 2022.

The 21-year-old talent first picked up a guitar at the age of nine and quickly discovered her passion for songwriting. Since then, she has refined her craft, working closely with her guitar, named "Earl," and collaborating with GRAMMY-nominated artist Benjamin Ruttner, Griffin Goldsmith of Dawes, and Matt Chamberlain, who has worked with the likes of David Bowie and Pearl Jam.

Madrid's previous tours include supporting acts such as The Knocks and indie band Cannons, as well as performing alongside Anna Shoemaker and Matt Maeson. With her sophomore EP set to be released later this year, fans can expect even more from this rising alt-pop sensation.
