In a truly amazing collaboration that crosses continents and personal histories, "Metamorphosis" by Alex Kade, Mikara, and HASHON is a great example of how music can change lives. This Future Bass track was born from a connection formed in 2020 when the three artists, who share Asian and POC backgrounds, met in a music group on Facebook. By 2022, they started working on a demo that Alex Kade had originally written. Over time, all three artists contributed to it. HASHON finished the instrumental in early 2023, while Mikara added her emotive vocals. The finishing touches were added by Alex Kade after his 2023 tour.
The trio drew inspiration from their experiences with abusive relationships to create "Metamorphosis". The song captures the uplifting journey of leaving toxicity behind. This is the second single from Alex Kade’s upcoming album, which was funded by the Canada Council of the Arts. This album is about Alex's experiences of touring, heartbreak, and cultural rediscovery as a Chinese-Canadian from Hong Kong.
Alex Kade has been performing "Metamorphosis" live with drums, and it's been getting great reviews during his 2024 tour with the #WeTouchGrass Anime Rave event.
