Sasha & The Bear - Plastic: A Dive into Authenticity

About the Song

"Plastic" is the first single from Sasha & The Bear's highly anticipated second EP. Every year, Sasha Daniel and Dov Igel, the creative forces behind the indie folk/indietronica duo, retreat to a secluded cabin in a different European country. This time, they found inspiration in the serene landscapes of northern Netherlands.

"Plastic" is an evocative track that delves into the desire to break free from superficiality. The lyrics poignantly express a yearning for authenticity and deeper meaning beyond the "plastic" facades we often encounter. With the repeated phrase "Trust me," the song becomes a heartfelt appeal to those closest to them, encouraging them to take bold steps toward true happiness. Sasha & The Bear’s message is clear: life is too short to be spent on anything less than genuine pursuit of joy and fulfillment.

About Sasha & The Bear

Formed in Brooklyn, NY, in 2016, Sasha & The Bear consists of longtime friends Sasha Daniel and Dov Igel. Both are accomplished songwriters, producers, and singers, who sought to create a distinctive sound separate from their solo endeavors. Their early indietronica releases in 2016 quickly garnered attention, landing on several Spotify playlists and establishing their unique musical presence.

The duo's journey hasn't been without hardship. In 2022, Dov tragically lost his mother, a loss that only strengthened their bond. Seeking solace and inspiration, they traveled to Scandinavia, where nature's tranquility and their shared experiences of loss and friendship influenced their music. This period of introspection and creativity led to the completion of their debut EP, set for release at the end of December 2023.

In 2024, Sasha & The Bear reconvened in the Netherlands, where they recorded their second EP, "7.5 years," which promises to build on their distinct blend of indie folk, indietronica, and indie pop. The upcoming EP, like "Plastic," is expected to reflect their continuous exploration of raw emotions and life's fleeting moments.
